Eugenia – Genia was born in Drohobycz on June 12th, 1925, the only daughter of Hadassah (Loewenberg) and Zadok Kraisberg. She passed away on November 11th, 2011 in the HaSharon Hospital in Petah Tikva and was buried at the Rosh Ha’ayin cemetery.
Being a single child, Genia’s parents wanted to give her everything they could and above all they dreamed she would have higher education. She grew-up in a loving extended family and started her studies in the high school in town.
This life ended abruptly and cruelly when the Germans invaded western Poland in 1941. Genia and her parents survived the war, almost the only ones from that extended family. When the war ended they settled in Legnica.
In 1946, Genia met Gershon Orbach, the only survivor from his family. They married in Legnica, and their two daughters were born there. In 1957 the entire family immigrated to Israel. Here, they all succeeded in establishing themselves, grow and flourish.
Genia worked as a bookkeeper from 1958 until her retirement. She was a dedicated worker, well-liked by her coworkers and stayed in touch with them all her life.
