Moti (Mordechai) Krochmal z”l
Moti was born in Cyprus on July 13th, 1947. He passed away in Ra’anana on April 19th, 2014.
Moti’s parents were Joseph, born in Boryslaw and Tova Radler, born in Lvov. They immigrated to Israel in 1947.
Moti grew-up in kibbutz Afikim, studied a number of years in Haifa and completed his high school education in the Meir Shfeya Youth Village. There he met the love of his life – Ruth, later his wife.
Moti served in the parachuted Nahal Brigade. He volunteered until the age of 54 and completed his service with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the reserves. He fought in all Israel wars from 1966 until 2001.
He held a senior position in the Israeli Aeronautical Industries where he worked for close to 40 years.
He cared for others and was active all his life: For 13 years he served as chairman of the board of the Dinnur school in Holon. From 1966 he held leading positions for the Lions organization in Hod-Hasharon and was instrumental in the establishment of the Rosh-HaAyin and Jerusalem chapters. In recent years Moti was an active member of the Drohobycz-Boryslaw organization.
His pride and Joy were his three daughters: Orly, Limor and Liran and his three grandchildren: Omer, Noa and Alma.
He was a fan of the Hapoel Tel-Aviv and he loved music.

The Krochmal family owned a haberdashery store in Boryslaw. There were four children. Except Joseph, and his brother Max the entire family perished in the Holocaust in Belzec and Auschwitz. Joseph lost his wife and son in the Holocaust and survived in a forced labor camp in Auschwitz.
After the war, Joseph met Toszka, a native of Lvov. On the way to Israel Joseph and Toszka were arrested and deported to a camp in Cyprus, where their son, Moti, was born. Moti served in the army and was a commander of a paratroop battalion. Later he managed projects in the Israeli Aeronautical Industries for 30 years. The late Moti was the father of three daughters.
