Oher
Submitted by Sofia Oher who was interviewed by Dr. Zvika Reiter in 2014
Sofia was born in Stryj in 1924. Her parents were farmers. She had five sisters and one brother.
During the holocaust, some of the family assumed Aryan identities while others were in hiding. Except for the eldest brother they all survived.
After the war Sofia married Josef, a Boryslaw native whose entire family was murdered during the holocaust except for his cousin Arnold Distler.
In 1957, Sofia, Josef and their two children immigrated to Israel and settled in Haifa. Sofia worked at a travel agency until her retirement.
