    Maurycy Gottlieb

    (1856 – 1879)

    Maurycy Gottlieb, one of the prominent painters of the late 19th Century, was born in Drohobycz to a family of several painters. Maurycy Gottlieb, a realist painter, is recognized as one of the founders of modern Jewish art.
