Research

Drawing on hundreds of testimonies, diaries, books, and historical documents, the study serves as both a historical investigation and a memorial to the vibrant Jewish life that once flourished in these two communities — to those whose lives were cut short, and to the few who survived.

The work is dedicated by the author, Daniela Mavor, a member of the survivors’ organization, to the members of the Organization of Survivors from Drohobych, Boryslav, and Surroundings: the first generation who endured, the second generation who remember, and the third generation who have taken upon themselves the pledge “to remember and never forget,” ensuring that the legacy is passed on to generations yet to come.
